Celebrating five years of African heritage and the spirit of tea
Written by Sheek
At the heart of Paris, Kanthé celebrated a milestone — five years of passion, culture, and tea craftsmanship. On this special morning at La Maison de l’Afrique, the brand unveiled its latest collection, “Queen of Africa”, a tribute to the legendary women who have shaped the continent’s story.
Founded by Maïmouna Kanté, Kanthé is a movement honoring Africa’s tea heritage and the women who nurture it.
Born in Guinea, Maïmouna grew up surrounded by the warmth and ritual of the African tea ceremony, where every infusion carries meaning: the first bitter as death, the second smooth as life, and the third sweet as love. From these roots, Kanthé was born — a bridge between ancestral traditions and contemporary elegance.
Each Kanthé blend tells a story of terroir, authenticity, and exchange, capturing the essence of Africa’s rich landscapes and its women’s resilience. The brand’s mission is simple yet powerful: to reveal Africa’s exceptional teas and infusions, too often overlooked, and share them with the world.
The “Queen of Africa” collection marks a new chapter. With the support of multiple brands and under the guidance of visionary partners such as Chef Pierre Thiam, the event gathered entrepreneurs, creators, and allies to celebrate African excellence and feminine power. Beyond an anniversary, it was a declaration — of pride, purpose, and connection.
Kanthé’s story continues with its Ulule campaign, launched to bring this new vision to life. Supporters can pre-order exclusive blends and take part in a unique contest — the chance to win a round-trip ticket to visit a tea plantation in Africa. It’s an invitation to go beyond the cup, to experience the roots of every leaf, and to reconnect with what truly matters.
As Maïmouna often says, “Kanthé is not just tea — it’s a way of living, sharing, and honoring where we come from.”
The celebration may have begun in Paris, but its essence belongs to every woman, every dreamer, and every sip that carries the spirit of Africa forward.
